Thanks to a Regional Arts Fund Quick Response Grant, Logan wildlife artist Ronelle Reid travelled to Charleville to spend time with Save the Bilby Fund. Ronelle documented some of her experiences for us!
Bilbies are such a special little creature in the Australian story so I have been really looking forward to getting up close and personal with them and working with the people saving the species from extinction. I am so thrilled to be returning to Charleville to do this residency!
I am sure it will take me a little bit of time to get my bearings on how to capture bilbies as they are nocturnal and fast! (I am not making life easy for myself). I am really looking forward to building lots of artistic resources through sketching and photographing my little muses at the Bilby Experience.
I will be documenting the full experience on my blog, so be sure to check it out!
This project was made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund (RAF), provided through Regional Arts Australia, administered in Queensland by Flying Arts Alliance. The RAF is an Australian Government program designed to benefit regional and remote arts practitioners, arts workers, audiences and communities.
