City of Rockingham Art Prize

These awards invite artists to consider the theme “Space”. One of the first things you notice about Rockingham is the sense of space. The flat terrain, the calm ocean and massive skies all combine to create space. There is a sense that we can see further, are closer to where the ocean meets the sky, the sky meets the land, the land touches the seas.

We all need space; whether it is to make a space for a home, a space for thought, a space for sharing with family and friends. And space is critical for our wellbeing. Artists are invited to respond to what space means to them.

Awards including acquisitive and non-acquisitive at a total value of $20,000, give people the opportunity to become part of the City’s art collection, show your work to a wider audience and be part of an exhibition across two venues that brings together the skills and imaginations of a large range of artists.
